A founding member of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) has predicted the party would pull what he describes as "the biggest surprise" in the 2016 general elections.
Kwesi Pratt Jnr, commenting on the just ended delegates’ conference of the CPP, said the CPP under the leadership of Ivor Kobina Greenstreet would cause a major upset in the 2016 elections.
“I made a prediction yesterday and I would dare repeat it today too and that is that I have full confidence in the leadership of Ivor Greenstreet…the CPP would pull the biggest surprise in the 2016 elections…,” he predicted on Accra-based Peace FM on Tuesday.
Mr Greenstreet, a former general secretary of the party, beat Ms. Nkrumah with 1,288 votes representing 64.2% as against the former Jomoro MP’s total of 579, representing about 28.9%.
Two other candidates: Joseph Agyapong picked up 83 votes, representing 4.1%; and Bright Akwetey managed 42, which makes up 2.1%; with 14 votes, representing 0.7% being rejected ballots.
