Papy Djilobodji leaves Chelsea on loan

Chelsea defender Papy Djilobodji has joined Werder Bremen on loan until the end of the season. Djilobodji only arrived at Stamford Bridge from Nantes on summer deadline day and made a single appearance for the Blues - totalling just 59 seconds - during September's Capital One Cup win over League One Walsall. Werder announced the signing via their official site on Thursday, but Chelsea are yet comment on the Senegal international's departure.

"We're very happy to have found a replacement for Assani Lukimya so soon after his departure," said Thomas Eichin, the German side's sporting director. Congo defender Lukimya recently secured a move to China with Liaoning Hongyun.
It is unclear if Werder have a purchase option in place for Djilobodji.According to a report in the Times, the Blues could move for Valencia defender Aymen Abdennour as the 27-year-old's replacement. Guss Hiddink's side currently have John Terry, Gary Cahill and Kurt Zouma as recognised centre-backs, with Branislav Ivanovic set to sign a one-year contract extension at Stamford Bridge.
