The actor comfirmed to zionfelix.com that he will be contesting as an Independent Candidate for Manso Nkwanta Constituency in the Amansie West district of the Ashanti Region during the upcoming general election.
Mr. Afranie, in a phone interview revealed that he has worked with NPP for a very long time but he believes he has to contest as an independent candidate else his dream to be a president in future will not come to fruition.
The actor has served as an Assembly man for the area, giving reasons why he will be contesting as an Independent Candidate he said “If I go for primaries, they might say it’s not my turn. We all know that NPP primaries are based on money. They will push money into the election which will shut my dream. Because of this, I decided to go as an independent candidate.”
Hammering on his chances of winning the seat at Manso Nkwanta, Michael Afranie revealed that “the incumbent who won because of money is not the favorite of many. He has this tag on him which says that he will not allow the youth in the area to embark on ‘galamsey’. I know for a fact that the act is illegal in Ghana but Chinese are allowed to do that in the community. I have my policies to also help the youth in the constituency to also mine the gold legally.”
He continued that “unemployment is very high in the constituency so I will make sure startup capital for jobs are easily accessed for the people to also gain employment. I will also give scholarships to the needy and brilliant students in the community to obtain quality education.”
Michael Afranie also revealed his plans for the entertainment industry and this is how he will canvas votes to win the seat at Manso Nkwanta constituency as independent candidate.
