Kanye West is reportedly releasing his seventh studio album, Swish, at New York Fashion Week (NYFW). At last, its Yeezy time again.
This follows a 7 January tweet from wife, Kim Kardashian West, who sent Yeezy fans into a frenzy when she announced that Kanye would drop new music each Friday, leading up to his album release date 11 February.
Two Swish tracks were released on 8 January, “Real Friends” and “No More Parties in LA” featuring Kendrick Lamar but on 15 January, Yeezy fans were left hanging. Kim swiftly apologised saying she “didn’t mean to lie” but that Kanye had to attend an Adidas fitting.
Kanye is all too familiar with NYFW – both Yeezy Season 1 and 2 were launched there. Fans will recall how he premiered a Sia-featured cut, “Wolves,” at his last NYFW showing. With NYFW beginning on 11 February – the same date Kanye has set aside to release Swish – it is likely that he will release both his new line and album at the same time.
The album formerly titled So Help Me God is said to feature the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Paul McCartney, Ty Dolla $ign, Tyler Bryant, French Montana, Cyhi the Prynce and more.
