Rumors have it that Louis Van Gaal offered to resign as the coach of Manchester United, following the club's 1-0 defeat to Southampton at Old Trafford on Saturday.
The Red Devils defeat to southampton made on Saturday made Van Gaal take this decision as for the first time Van Gaal
admitted publicly
on Saturday he had failed the United supporters, his comments coming after boos
had accompanied him from the field at the end of the 1-0 defeat. It was the
first open revolt against him from inside Old Trafford and, because Van Gaal
has often cited fans’ backing as a prime factor in his hunger for the job, it
moved him to make the offer to resign to Woodward

But executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward refused to sanction Van Gaal's
departure, wanting the manager to remain in place until the end of the
season rather than risk upheaval during the current campaign. And Van Gaal has agreed to stay on for now, with the club due to face Derby County in the FA Cup on Friday.
