A statement signed by Press Secretary of Nana Addo, Mr Eugene Arhin said a suggestion by the newspaper that Nana Addo murdered his first wife was "nothing but a vile, repugnant and tasteless fabrication."
It added: “It is tragic that our politics should sink to such levels that there appears to be nothing sacred, nor any respect for our cultural values in our society; and people would want to use the death of a loved one to defame a political opponent."
“This story is nothing but a vile, repugnant and tasteless fabrication. We demand an unconditional and immediate retraction of the story in the next edition of the paper, which comes out on Thursday, January 28, 2015. This retraction must be given the same prominence as was given to the earlier story,” the statement said.
