The death of the British-Ghanaian model has been trending on social media, and some Ghanaian celebrities have reacted to the shocking news.
He died after jumping of a bridge Pasadena, California, according to E! News.
The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner has ruled his death suicide, with an autopsy pending. Known for co-hosting MTV’s “Yo Momma” and presenting the BET Award for Best International Act, Sam 40, died on Monday, October 26, his rep confirmed.
Ghanaian BET award winning Rapper Sarkodie, Radio Presenter Jeremie, GUBA CEO Dentaa, actress/ Radio Presenter Naa Ashorkor, Ghanaian UK based Disk Jockey DJ Abrantie, actress Ama K. Abebrese among others have commented on the sad news.
Meanwhile, his family has issued a statement confirming the unfortunate incident. In a statement, his family said:
“It is with great sadness that the family of Samuel Sarpong Jr. must share the news that Sam has passed away. The circumstances surrounding his death are currently under investigation, and no additional details are known at this time. The family appreciates the thoughts prayers and other expressions of sympathy, and request their privacy be respected at this extremely difficult time”.
