The Adenta divisional police has mounted a search for a driver and his mate for abandoning a Hyundai mini bus full of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.
The two abandoned the bus when the Highway Police Patrol and Visibility Department pursued them after they had sped off when the police told them to stop.
A driver’s licence bearing the name Kwame Ofori, 36, was retrieved from the vehicle when it was towed to the Adenta Police Station.
Six jute bags of dried leaves and 109 compressed dried leaves wrapped in plastic were found during a search on the bus.
