The 25-year-old is set to lead the Black Stars when they take on their Rwandan counterparts in their 2017 AFCON qualifiers in Kigali on Saturday.
In an interview on Sports Panorama on Cit FM on Friday, Spokesperson for the Ghana Football Association Ibrahim Sanni Dara said Asamoah Gyan trained for just a few minutes with the team on Friday but pulled out of the session because of an injury.

The team doctors are yet to make a definitive statement on whether Gyan will play any part in the game yet.
“Let’s wait and see what happens as things could change,” he said.
