Actress Yvonne Nelson has described President John Mahama’s endorsement of fellow actor John Dumelo as discriminatory.
She said although it is good that the President acknowledges the movie industry’s contribution to the development of the country, she doesn’t appreciate that the president singled out John as his favourite actor.
Speaking on the ‘Let’s talk entertainment’ show, Yvonne said, “John Dumelo supports him publicly so I mean it is cool.
“I believe he has got his favourite, everyone has their favourite and if you are in the entertainment industry and you are putting Ghana on the map, the president should love you because you are doing something for Ghana. We are all putting Ghana on the map so I believe the President should love all of us because we are all trying for Ghana.”
“For me, I want to see Ghana there and that’s a cool thing, Sarkodie is putting Ghana there so the President has to love him and so the President should mention more names to encourage us,” she the actress stressed.
