EMPIRE SEASON TWO RELEASE DATE…23^RDSEPTEMBER 2015 and 5 spoilers you need to know…..

Empire was the breakout success in the last television season and the show has been picked up for season 2. When the show returns, there will be a time jump from where season one left off to where season two will begin. While you wait for the show to return, below are five things to know about what is in store for season 2:

1. Season 2 will be just as good as season 1. "I think that in season one we succeeded in telling our story and that it worked, and so it’s just a matter of continuing the story, and making the story work," said executive producer Danny Strong to Deadline. "I find making the story work so difficult, and no one wants it to be as good as I do. So the pressure I put on myself usually exceeds any pressure I feel about anything–so it’s more of the same to be honest."

2. Actor and comedian Chris Rock will be joining the cast. Behind the scenes footage has shown Rock sporting an orange jumpsuit with Lucious (Terrence Howard), revealing that Rock will be playing an inmate and that Howard will be in prison for an undisclosed amount of time.

3. New love interest for the Lyon matriarch. Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) will be getting a love interest. According to SpoilerTV, actor Adam Rodriguez will be playing a character named Laz Delgado — a former EMT from New York who is described as “a smooth-talking concert promoter with expert hustler skills.”

4. Lucious will micro-manage from prison. Lucious may be in prison but that won't stop him from controlling his company or his family. “Lucious can do what he does no matter where he is,” said executive producer Ilene Chaiken to TV Line. “Lucious, basically, has tentacles.”

5. Alicia Keys will guest star. Similar to Rock and Hudson's role last season, Keys will be playing a character in season 2.
