Sacked soldier busted for robbery
A soldier, Martin Atinga Awagra, who was dismissed recently from the Ghana Armed Forces, has joined forces with robbery gangs in the Ashanti Region, terrorizing residents and business people.
He has been put before a Bekvvai circuit court after he was arrested in a GHC30,000 gold robbery operation at Anyaaso near Asiwa in the Bosome-Freho District.
Martin Atinga Awagra, a resident of Tafo Mile Four in Kumasi, was remanded into prison custody when he appeared before the court on Monday after pleading not guilty to charges of robbery, illegal possession of fire arms and kidnapping.
He is expected back in court on March 8, 2016 to answer four counts of conspiracy to commit robbery, robbery, kidnapping and possessing firearm and ammunition without lawful authority.
Kalybos, Majid Michel in trouble over “Amakye & Dede” movie Title
Well from the look of things it seems Amakye Dede is not happy about the use of his name as the title of the new movie AMAKYE & DEDE.Information zionfelix.com is picking suggests this.
Amakye Dede is said to be complaining over the use of his name for the movie “Amakye & Dede” which production is currently underway.

Born on April 20th, Skrew Face in an interview on eTV’s The Late Nite Celebrity Show has detailed how his recent problems with an underground act began.
Skrew Face was alleged to have been given GH¢200.00 in 2014 by rising artist, King Zazy to feature him(Screw Face) on his new single, titled ‘San Bra’.

‘Touching the lady’s 'private part' was not intentional’
It was reported yesterday that up and coming act Nii Funny touched the private part of a lady while performing his 'Heartbreak' song at the Live Aqua Rave pool party at Beduoin Lounge.
In an interview with Livefmghana.com, the artiste claimed that act was not intentional; it was not a stunt to make a name adding that his brand is a responsible one.

Shatta Wale barred from VGMAs
Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has been barred from contesting in this year’s edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
Charter House had dragged Shatta Wale to court for posting four videos considered defamatory on social media.
At a news conference on Tuesday, officials of Charter House, organisers of the event announced that since Shatta Wale was yet to apologise to them for insults he hurled at them last year, he was ineligible to contest in the awards scheme.

Six junior high students in trouble for alleged occult activities
Authorities of Mary Afriyie SDA JHS at Mamponteng in the Kwabre District of the Ashanti Region are investigating six students and a primary 6 pupil for allegedly performing occult acts.
They were picked up in an uncompleted building by community police assistants following a tip-off.
The seven children, most of them teenagers, were allegedly drinking a strange concoctions and making some incantations in the uncompleted building after school hours.
Nhyira FM’s Ohemeng Tawiah reports school authorities have refused to speak to reporters on details of the bizarre incident.

Presiding Bishop of the Dzorwulu Circuit of the Methodist Church of Ghana says the posture adopted the Chairperson of the Electoral commission, Charlotte Osei and her team, has convinced him that there is a scheme to impose President John Mahama on Ghanaians after the November 7 polls.
Rt. Rev Stephen Richard Bosomtwe-Ayensu underscored the need for electorates to choose their leaders, as that is the guiding principle of every democracy. His comments follow the formation of the controversial Steering Committee set up by the EC to manage the general elections later this year.
Bishop Ayensu said it is not illegal for the EC to set up such committee ahead of the elections, but advised that the Commission must consult with the Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) and other stakeholders.
Teachers SAGA! --BNI picks up over 400 ‘fake teachers’
More than 400 teachers who have been identified by the Ghana Education Service (GES) to be teaching with fake certificates, have been handed over to the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI).
This is according to the Director General of GES, Jacob Kor.
In 2015, the GES began a verification process across the country to flush out all teachers using fake certificates.
At a press briefing in Accra, Mr. Kor said the number is likely to increase as more than 200 teachers were identified in one district.

As a symbol of cultural display, African traditional leaders are normally seen in the Kente cloth especially during special programs.
Hardly will you see celebrities put on traditional clothe. But the premises of the chief of Kunsu in the Ahafo Ano South District in the Ashanti Region, Nana Agyemang Badu's one year anniversary saw several celebs portraying their real African in them as they put on beautiful Kente cloths.
Key among them were Ghanaian screen goddesses, Nana Ama Mcbrown, Bill Asamoah, Mercy Asiedu among others.
President Mahama's ‘contender’ arrested
The man who tried to contest President Mahama in the National Democratic Congress' (NDC) presidential primaries, George Boateng has been arrested.
He was arrested at about 11:30pm on Sunday night by National Security officers and handed over to the Airport Police.
George Boateng is said to have been impersonating national security personnel while taking money from unsuspecting persons.
Checks by Joy News reveal he is still in custody at the Airport Police as at now.
